IT Support Analyst - 1st&2nd Line - 6 months FTC
Job Overview
Capco UK is looking to employ someone with previous IT experience who is keen to learn and flexible with working occasional evenings and weekends. First and second line IT Support for a fast moving financial consultancy firm based in London. Must have a good customer service background.
Capco currently resides over two buildings in London a few minutes’ walk from London Liverpool Street. The candidate’s time will be split between both offices helping IT support in both buildings. There will be a requirement to offer support to Capco’s South African office when needed and occasionally assist IT teams in Europe and America.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities for assisting with tasks include but are not limited too;
- Answering phone calls and emails offering first line support
- Responding to service desk requests logged via a ticketing system
- Arranging times to physically assist with Capco employee laptops as a second line of support
- Maintenance of HP and Apple laptops
- Installation of software
- Remote help with accessing Capco externally and general support
- Liaising with vendors to arrange repair/replacement of printers, laptops and audio visual equipment
- Daily and monthly backups of the London Infrastructure
Some examples of the main duties are:
- Managing the Capco UK workstation inventory
- Assisting with the UK new joiner process for IT which includes setting up new joiner accounts in Active Directory, building new joiner laptops and being on hand in inductions in case of questions
- To supply desktop support to office based and client based Consultants for the UK, South Africa. This generally includes the maintenance of laptops, installation of software, remote help with logging in and accessing Capco externally
- Managing the UKLO IT Helpdesk mailbox and responding to queries from Capco employees
- Assisting with tasks assigned by the Global Service Desk team using Capco’ in house Altiris service desk tool
- Occasionally being available outside of working hours to carry out additional work and maintenance that can’t be done during office hours.
- Splitting time between two London based offices to assist current UK IT Support team where possible
Experience and Skills
The following is required for this role:
Previous experience working in 1st and 2nd Line Support role
Good understanding of Windows, Linux and Apple client operating systems
Familiarity with Windows Server 2008R2
Competent skills in virtual server management using Hyper V and VMWare
Basic Telnet and Putty skills
Basic knowledge of Active Directory
Professional and well presented at all times
Highly organised
Able to work using own initiative
Able to work in a team
Able to work under pressure
Excellent people and social skills
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of Google Apps domain, Amazon Web Services and Altiris Service Desk are desired but not essential
