Forensic - Using specialist accounting, investigation and business skills in assisting clients involved in commercial or regulatory disputes or in the investigation of fraud and impropriety. Working in the team will mean getting involved in a broad range of projects, i.e. Fraud investigations, and tracing assets.

Working in the team will mean getting involved in a broad range of projects (e.g. investigations of fraud, misconduct, sanctions, anti-money laundering and asset tracing.) 

Our work frequently involves highly sensitive engagements which gain regulatory scrutiny and media attention

We are seeking a Manager to join the team in our London office. As part of our Investigations and Compliance team, you will be involved in projects in areas such as:

  • Anti-money laundering systems, controls, assurance and change;
  • KYC remediation
  • Sanctions investigations
  • Transaction monitoring
  • Mis-selling of financial products
  • Regulatory compliance; and
  • Preparation and delivery of training and awareness sessions
  • Roles and Responsibilities

The role undertaken by the individual will depend on the type and circumstances of each project. The candidate should expect to work on a variety of project based work over a cross section of forensic work types, industries and geographies.The role will include leading smaller investigations and compliance assignments, where specific expertise in financial services and relevant regulation will be necessary. Individuals may also be responsible for leading a workstream as part of larger project. The individual will have a team working with them and will be expected to deal directly with the client and senior members of the KPMG team. Each project will generally incorporate the review and assessment of evidence, controls and/or risks, drafting of written reports and client liaison.The individual will also be expected to participate in marketing, knowledge sharing and practice development. The individual will be based in KPMG's London office but will need to display a flexible attitude to working and be prepared to travel to/work at other locations within the UK and internationally.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Professionally qualified 
  • (either accounting or compliance qualification would be desirable) 

Experience and Background To succeed in this demanding role you will need to demonstrate the following experience and skills:

  • Current forensic experience or previous experience in an advisory firm (Big 4, mid tier or general-
  • consultancy) or financial institution- 
  • Sound technical knowledge of anti-money laundering, sanctions and regulatory compliance- 
  • Strong managerial skills on small projects and experience of working on large and complex projects- 
  • Experience of drafting reports and other deliverables suitable for presentation to a client- 
  • Ability to articulate complex and technical findings in both written and oral presentations for a variety of audiences- 
  • Strong people skills - able to help others set their goals, inspire and develop junior colleagues- 
  • Experience of article writing / presenting on technical topics- Confidence to be able to quickly establish credibility with clients- 
  • An enthusiasm to get involved in marketing activity and in developing the Forensic practice-
  •  Highly motivated to pursue a rewarding and enjoyable career with KPMG Forensic- 
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and problem solving, self motivation and possess an enquiring mind- 
  • Strong team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure areessential- 
  • Ability to understand and manage the risks and financials associated with client engagement- 
  • Confidence and ability to provide credible challenge both externally and internally- 
  • Deep knowledge of at least one sector within the financial services market and a willingness to help- develop this sector- 
  • Developed network of relevant contacts
