Students joining our summer internship programme spend eight to 12 weeks with us between June and August. The programme is open to MBA students and undergraduates in the penultimate year of their degree and is designed to provide an insight into the day-to-day working life of a McKinsey consultant.

As an intern, you’ll encounter some of the challenges and pressures of a client project and work as an integral part of a client service team. You’ll do real work with responsibilities such as analyzing data and making presentations to clients, and we must be able to rely on your integrity and discretion. Experienced consultants will guide and coach you exactly as they would if you joined us on a permanent basis.

As well as finding out how we work, you’ll also get to know who we are, from the partner who oversees your progress to the consultants who work alongside you to the “buddy” who acts as your informal sounding board. If you complete the summer programme successfully, you may be offered a permanent role with us.
