This event has already taken place.

Women in Defence UK is delighted to invite you to an important opportunity to listen to Admiral Sir George Zambellas discuss the Royal Navy’s diversity challenges and how his diversity initiative looks to go beyond targets and KPIs to access talent. Admiral Sir George will have handed over the reins as First Sea Lord of the Royal Navy just before the event. PA Consulting is proud to host what should be a thought-provoking and honest session.

Early in his tenure as the First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir George Zambellas made his expectations on diversity and inclusion clear in his mandate “The operational case for diversity and inclusion is unassailable. It is a characteristic of our business.” However, the Royal Navy faces some specific challenges due to the nature of its operations and the constraints placed upon it and so realising the benefits of diversity is not straightforward.

Admiral Sir George has kindly agreed to be interviewed by Women in Defence UK so that we can understand the challenges and difficulties facing the Royal Navy and how the organisation might overcome some of these barriers in the future.

This is a unique opportunity to be able to put questions directly to the Admiral in an open forum which we are sure will be both enlightening and stimulating.

I do hope you will be able to join us. The event will start at 18:00 and Admiral Sir George Zambellas will depart at 21:00. There will be time afterwards for networking over some refreshments.
