Cognizant has bought Cadient Group, a digital marketing firm specialised in healthcare and life sciences, an acquisition that will boost Cognizant’s digital capabilities. The more than 120 Cadient Group employees will be added to Cognizant’s headcount of more than 187,000. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Cadient Group is an interactive marketing agency, founded in 2002, that provides solutions in digital media, creative and marketing strategy to a wide range of life sciences companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and consumer health industries. The firm has more than 120 employees worldwide and is headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
Cognizant is a provider of technology, business consulting, enterprise applications, and business process outsourcing services, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey. The firm has a headcount of around 187,400 employees working from its more than 75 delivery centres worldwide.
In line with its strategy to bolster its digital capabilities – one of the fastest growing segments in the consulting and IT landscape – Cognizant has decided to purchase Cadient Group. The acquisition will add a decade of experience in providing digital strategy, marketing, and technology and analytics solutions in the healthcare and life sciences industry to Cognizant. “In an increasingly competitive industry with many digitally active stakeholders, the acquisition of Cadient Group will complement Cognizant’s digital and interactive solutions capability,” says Shankar Narayanan, Vice President and Global Markets Leader of the Life Sciences practice at Cognizant.
