Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft and Facebook are the most innovative companies in the world. The top 10 is as usual dominated by firms active in the technology and telecom sector, reveals a new report ('The Most Innovative Companies 2012) from consulting firm The Boston Consulting Group.
The research of BCG is based on the input of more than 1,500 senior executives worldwide.
An overview of the top 20 most innovative companies:
13. Kia Motors
16. General Electric
17. Coca Cola
BCG's analysis shows that the list of most innovative companies is becoming increasingly dynamic. Multinationals are finding it harder to maintain their position in the list. For example, over the past year several renown companies dropped out of the top 25, including technology giants LG Electronics, Nintendo, Nokia, and Research in Motion. Overall, 20 firms fell off the 2012 list, of which 10 were completely new firms and 10 returned back into the top 50.
