Greg Benefield to lead Food & Beverage Practice Marsh

Greg Benefield has been appointed Head of Marsh’s Food & Beverage Practice. In his new role, Benefield will be tasked with providing Marsh’s clients with risk advisory and transactional services, leveraging his more than 30 years of risk management experience in the field of foodservice.

Prior to joining Marsh, Greg Benefield worked across various roles at Willis (now Willis Towers Watson) since he joined the company in 1993. His most recent role at Willis was that of Executive Vice-President of the firm’s Food & Beverage Practice. The work included the creation of corporate property and casualty risk management programmes, focused on risk financing, enterprise risk, claims management and safety/loss control. His successful career has seen Benefield named a ‘Power Broker’ by Risk & Insurance magazine for his work in the foodservice industry, as well as being recognised with honourable distinction as a ‘Thought Leader’ for the US restaurant industry.

Benefield served as the President of the Cumberland RIMS Chapter, and was educated at Western Kentucky University.

As Marsh’s new US Food & Beverage practice leader, Benefield is charged with providing the firm’s clients with risk advisory and transactional services across the US. He will be based in Marsh’s Nashville, Tennessee office, where he will report directly to Mac Nadel, Marsh’s national Retail/Wholesale Food & Beverage Practice leader. “Deep industry knowledge and expertise are among Marsh’s greatest assets and play a key role in our ability to deliver differentiated value to our clients.
