A large part of Synergia Consulting Group, an alliance of professional services firms in Italy, has joined the Baker Tilly network. With the move, which includes the addition of two other boutique advisories, Baker Tilly adds roughly 200 professionals to its Italian footprint.
With 27,000 people in 133 countries Baker Tilly is one of the largest accounting and consulting networks of the globe. Late September the business advisory unveiled it has significantly bolstered its Italian operations. 14 specialised tax advisory firms have been integrated into its network, of which 12 are members of Synergia Consulting Group, an Italian alliance between 15 local players. The new firms add coverage in Alba, Ancona, Bologna, Catania, Florence, Genova, Modena, Naples, Rome, Turin, Treviso and Verona.
Pietro Mastrapasqua, Managing Partner at Synergia, comments on the joining of forces: “Synergia was impressed with Baker Tilly International’s value proposition, particularly regarding taxation services. We believe joining Baker Tilly International will provide us with significant opportunities including best practice sharing and the opportunity to work with a greater depth of international clients. We are honoured to be joining a network with strong ethical principles”.
In addition, Baker Tilly has added two other firms: Studio Lobis is based in the key business city of Milan and provides niche services to German clients, while Studio MMVN & Associati also provides coverage in Milan advising Italian and French clients. Reflecting on the major expansion in Italy, Baker Tilly CEO Geoff Barnes says: “Italy is an important market in Europe and our member firms are keen to access quality coverage for taxation services, from a breadth and depth perspective, to complement the services that are provided by our current member firm Baker Tilly Revisa. The addition of the 14 firms to the network provides our members with access to high profile firms across Italy, a critical mass of expertise throughout the country. All of the firms will be committed members of our network, seeking to create strong links with member firms and to collaborate on future projects”.
