Aon Hewitt has opened a new office in Cardiff to accommodate its ambition to increase its market share in South Wales. The firm’s Bristol’s office employees will staff the office for now, with plans to hire new employees when the office proves to be successful.
Aon Hewitt, the human resources, retirement and health business of Aon, currently employees more than 30,000 professionals across six continents serving more than 20,000 clients worldwide. To increase its market share following recent changes to pension legislation, the consulting firm opened a new office in Cardiff.
The new office will be staffed with and run by Aon Hewitt staff from its Bristol office, with the firm planning to hire new employees if the office turns out to be successful.
Richard Cox, Principal Consultant at Aon Hewitt, will be in charge of the new Cardiff office. Cox comments: “Changes in legislation and within the corporate pension market are driving an increase in activity across the UK’s pensions industry and organisations in South Wales are seeing the effect of that. We are now seeing increased opportunities to expand our services and we feel the best way to do that is by establishing a base in Cardiff to enable us to get closer to our clients – both current and future.”
