Baker Tilly Virchow Krause (US) has added a new Partner and a new Senior Manager to its operations. Sherrie Krowczyk-Mendoza, formerly at RSM, joins the firm’s Milwaukee, Wisconsin, base as lead of the firm’s Midwest financial institutions governance, risk and compliance practice; Louis Shiber, formerly at CliftonLarsonAllen, joins the firm as Senior Manager in the firm’s healthcare practice.
Prior to joining Baker Tilly Virchow Krause (Baker Tilly), Sherrie Krowczyk-Mendoza worked at the US arm of RSM, for more than 21 years. In her most recent role she was a Risk Advisory Services Partner in the Great Lakes region. Her role included consulting services delivery in internal audit, loan review, and regulatory compliance and IT services to clients in financial institutions and credit unions.
Krowczyk-Mendoza holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Mathematics from Rockford University. She has a number of professional accreditations, including CPA, CFSA, CRP, and CTACP.
In her new role at Baker Tilly, Krowczyk-Mendoza joins the firm’s Milwaukee, Wisconsin, office as Partner and lead of the firm’s Midwest financial institutions governance, risk and compliance practice. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the leadership role and will oversee internal audit, loan review, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity and IT risk services for banks and insurance companies.

Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Louis Shiber worked at public accounting and consulting firm CliftonLarsonAllen, as an Engagement Director and Reimbursement Director, in its Health Care unit. Throughout his career his 35 year career in the healthcare segment, Shiber developed a host of consulting, financial and operational skills, serving nursing facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, acute care hospitals, long-term acute hospitals, and hospice and home health providers. In addition, Shiber has provided a range of advisory services to senior living clients. He join’s the firm’s Healthcare practice as a Senior Manager.
Shiber, who holds a Master of Business Administration, is active in the LeadingAge New Jersey Public Policy Committee, the Philadelphia Chapter of the Health Care Financial Management Association (HFMA), and in the Pennsylvania Sub-Medical Assistance Advisory Committee (Sub-MAAC).
