FTI Consulting has hired financial services expert David Waller as a Senior Managing Director in its Financial Services Practice. Waller, who joins from the Association of Financial Markets in Europe, is based in London.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, David Waller worked at the Association of Financial Markets in Europe as a Director of External Relations. Previously, between 2009 and 2013, Waller was the Head of Communications at Man Group and GLG Partners. Waller’s earlier roles include Senior Consultant at Maitland Consultancy, a London-based financial and corporate communications consultancy, from 2007 until 2009; Head of External Relations at insurance giant Allianz, from 2005 until 2007, and Head of Communications at British-based investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort. Waller started his career with the Financial Times, where he worked as a Reporter, and subsequently ran his own PR consultancy firm Chancery Communications for around eight years.
Waller holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oxford and a Master of Arts in Victorian Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London.
Waller joins FTI Consulting as a Senior Managing Director in the Financial Services Practice within its Strategic Communications segment – one of FTI's five main operating groups. He brings extensive experience to the consulting firm in, among others, investment banking, asset management and insurance, and will focus on engagements at banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions. Waller is based in FTI's London office.
Andrew Walton, Global Head of Financial Services and Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, says that the firm is “delighted” to welcome him aboard. “David has both an excellent external reputation in the industry and a very strong contact book, and I am certain he will be a great fit and a huge asset to our team,” he adds.
Earlier this year FTI's London practice made twelve senior appointments to its leadership ranks.
