Raymond James has hired veteran investment banking expert Brendan Tierney as a Managing Director, he joins from Janney Montgomery Scott.. Tierney brings more than 20 years of banking experience to the firm, and he is based from their New York office.
Prior to joining Raymond James, Brendan Tierney worked at Janney Montgomery Scott where he held the position of Managing Director within its Industrials practice. Tierney has extensive experience with M&A deals; he was a Vice President within Citigroup’s M&A practice between 2006 and 2008, prior to which he worked at Rabobank from 2000, in the role of, among others, a Vice President within the bank’s international M&A group. Previous roles include a brief stint at SG Cowen as an associate within its Investment Banking segment; within Fixed Income Sales at Merrill Lynch, from 1997 until 1998; and at Fixed Income Analyst at State Street Research (Blackrock), where Tierney started his career in 1993.
Tierney holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from Tufts University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Cornell University - S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Raymond James has picked up Tierney, who joins the financial services advisory firm’s Industrials Investment Banking practice as a Managing Director. In the new role, Tierney brings more than 20 years of experience to provide the firm’s clients with expertise in the water and wastewater, motion and flow control, test and instrumentation, and niche manufacturing sectors. Tierney is based in New York.
