Arthur J. Gallagher & Co has added insurance broker White & Company to its growing list of acquisitions. The addition will provide the firm with a well-positioned and reputed brokerage in the Santa Monica, US, region.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co has over the past months been pursuing an ambitious inorganic growth strategy, picking up several rivals and counterparts globally in 2015. Deals include the acquisition of US-based Sigma II Insurance and Centennial Insurance Agency, as well as New Zealand-based broker Reid Manson and Canadian-based Victoria and Vancouver.
The firm's first acquisition this year is of California-based boutique insurer White & Company – strengthening Arthur J.Ghallagher & Co's west coast presence. White & Company, located in Santa Monica, US, is a boutique insurance brokerage focused on providing clients with a wide range of risk management solutions that meet the specific needs of a company’s development stage. The broker works for clients in the finance, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, aviation and hospitality industries, in the areas of property/casualty, employee benefits and risk management insurance. The insurance broker was founded in 1952 and employs 46 people.

The deal will see White & Company's team, including Principal Dennis White and President Andrew Valdivia, continue to operate from its current premises – now under the direction of James G. McFarlane, Western Regional Manager of Gallagher's retail property/casualty brokerage operation.
