Our Team

Our Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) practice advises law firms, companies and the public sector on complex economic and financial matters. Our team includes economists, accountants, valuation professionals, MBAs and econometricians.

We apply our skills and experience in a wide range of situations. We provide advice on the value of lost profits, businesses, shareholdings and intellectual property assets in both contentious and non-contentious situations. In financial services, we develop, review and implement strategies for the management of market and credit risks, liquidity and operational risk, litigation exposure and regulatory compliance. In regulated industries, we use economic analysis, econometrics and network modelling to analyse pricing issues and we advise companies and government agencies on the effect of proposed policies.

Our team in London is expanding. We currently have more than 100 professionals but are looking for experienced consultants able to solve complex, unstructured problems.  Successful candidates will have strong analytical skills and an eye for detail. You will be able to explain complex analysis clearly, and be able to understand how your work fits into the “big picture”.

Consultants are involved in the full range of EFC’s work and are central to our analysis and report writing. They are expected to:

  •  take responsibility for their own research;
  •  to manage and carry out quantitative, industry and market analysis; and to report their findings in a clear, concise and structured way;
  • develop proprietary valuation models for new structures/products, assist  in the production of presentations, memorandums and reports and the presentation of findings and conclusions to project managers and clients;
  • attend meetings with clients;
  • take responsibility for discrete parts of projects and ensuring the data relied upon is robust and appropriate;
  • assist in writing proposals, articles and papers for academic publications and conferences.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have 3 to 5 years of post-graduation professional experience;

  • be working towards or have an ACA or CFA;

  • have a first (2:1 or better) or higher degree from a university with a reputation for excellence in the subject in question;

  • have a solid understanding of the principal concepts in valuation, microeconomics and finance;

  • be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of other software such as Microsoft VBA, Access, Stata or R is also required.
