FTI Consulting is a fast growing and vibrant place to work. Steered by our values of Integrity, Creativity, Achievement, Empathy and Respect, its meritocratic culture invites both collaboration and healthy debate. We are large enough to be trusted by our clients to solve their biggest issues and yet small enough to know our colleagues on a personal level enabling better team working and a supportive culture to develop your career goals and ambitions.
The Quantitative Finance and Valuations team within EFC provides independent valuation, risk management, dispute and investigation services to clients globally. We are a diverse and talented team of quants and risk management specialists with many years of combined experience in financial markets. We support our clients globally, working on complex and or illiquid investments, securities and derivatives and across the spectrum of asset classes including listed and non-listed equity and debt, structured credit, foreign exchanges, money markets, commodities and energy:
Valuation & Analytics: we provide independent valuations with a particular emphasis on complex and/or illiquid investments, securities and derivatives traded over the counter or on exchange.
Risk Management: we support our clients in quantifying, monitoring, reporting and managing their risk. We have the ability to tailor our platform to meet our clients’ business needs and help them comply with their regulatory requirements, risk culture and governance framework.
Disputes & Investigation Services: We provide rigorous and transparent analysis to support expert testimony across all major asset classes and products. Our work stands up to the scrutiny of regulators, financial market supervisory bodies, courts, arbitration tribunals and parties in mediation in the UK and internationally.
Senior Consultants are core to our team. We expect them to work autonomously, manage work streams (e.g. research, analysis, modelling and drafting of reports) and report daily and directly to Directors or Senior Directors. Senior Consultants should be confident in taking the lead on significant parts of the analysis and directing and reviewing the work of Consultants and in interacting with clients. They should demonstrate excellent structured thinking, clarity and high standards in written and verbal communications, particularly when reporting to clients. More specifically the role will involve:
analysing and valuing illiquid financial instruments, including derivatives and structured products in the context of advisory or litigation assignments, using proprietary models and standard valuation platforms;
developing proprietary valuation models for new instruments or assets;
delivering work under tight deadlines across multiple projects without losing the attention to detail;
producing high quality written output to present findings and conclusions to colleagues and clients; and
attending client meetings as required.
Senior Consultants are expected to work across different subject matters and therefore need to be highly flexible in their attitude and approach.
We are seeking candidates with 3 to 6 years of work experience, especially experience in quantitative finance and risk management in the banking or asset management sectors is a plus. Candidates should be interested to work across a variety of projects, business segments, subject matters and clients, and diversify their knowledge and experience.
