Telecoms Regulation Consultant
PwC have an opportunity for an Economist to join the Telecoms Regulation team.
We are looking for talented and motivated individuals to join us to strengthen and expand our regulatory telecoms practice. We are seeking to hire one or more experienced Regulatory Telecommunications Economist.
We want to recruit exceptional and experienced Consultant with a background of using economics to support us in advising telecoms operators and regulators. We are interested in people from a range of different backgrounds including telecoms operators, economics consultancies, sector regulators and academia.
The position will involve the role holder to use economic techniques to analyse regulatory and competition related issues facing the telecoms industry (e.g. spectrum issues, price regulation, cost modelling, profitability analysis, interconnection, licensing, competition issues, market analysis, remedies, etc.). You will lead small project teams with a view to providing regulatory strategy and policy advice to our clients across Europe and beyond. This role will involve extensive international travel across continents.
About the role
PwC's UK Economics and Policy practice includes around 100 individuals and is part of our global economics practice. In our telecoms industries projects we work as part of One Firm teams with professionals from many different backgrounds including strategy, corporate finance, forensics, and assurance. Need to travel/overnight stays away from home (Yes - regularly)
- Post graduate qualification in Economics or related discipline relevant to economic regulation.
- Experience in telecoms (e.g. through Consulting or work for a NRA).
- You are keen on international travel.
- You want to be an advisor in the telecoms industry.
- Excellent understanding of economic regulation, both theoretical and practical, able to articulate this at different levels.
- Understand commercial implications of regulatory issues.
- Comfortable using both qualitative and quantitative data, drafting complex documents (adapting style to the audience) and working with complex theoretical and empirical models.
