From designing and implementing major strategic transformation programmes, designing and managing business change through sourcing solutions or determining how to recover existing under-performing sourcing arrangements – our breadth and depth of skills ensures our clients succeed.
As one of PA’s Brilliant Business Services team, you’ll have a stake in our firm and join an environment where your individuality and ideas matter. You will become aligned and develop expertise in one or more of our three SSO service lines:
Brilliant back office: helping organisations to define and deliver back office services which deliver fantastic business value. We help clients to understand their ambition, define strategies and design and implement new operating models and capabilities.
•Sourcing advisory: developing and implementing innovative outsourcing, offshoring and shared service solutions. We support clients throughout the whole sourcing life-cycle to help them define, execute and support outsourcing transactions with leading providers. This includes aligning strategy, defining requirements, delivering transactions, transitioning services and optimising relationships. . We build collaborative client/supplier relationships that deliver seamless end-to-end services. We also work with clients to turn around failing sourcing arrangements.
Integrated shared services: advising clients on sourcing strategy, building the vision and business case for shared services and their integration. We bring middle and back office functions – including HR, finance, resource and facilities management, IT and information management, project management and procurement – together into a single organisation that drives a fundamental change in the way services are delivered.

We are seeking to strengthen our team at all consultant levels. As part of the shared services & outsourcing practice, you will work directly with clients on a wide range of assignments. You will demonstrate initiative, drive and a commitment to helping your clients succeed. At PA you have license to think laterally when it comes to achieving the best outcomes for our clients. Although consultancy experience will be valuable, we are also interested in candidates with relevant experience from industry.
Your experience should include, but not be limited to:
- Business Process Outsourcing experience across Back or Middle office solutions on a provider or client basis
- Understanding of preferably two functional areas from the Back office including IT , Human Resources, Finance, Procurement and Facilities Management or Middle office including Operations, Workflow and Resource Management
- Developing strategies for back office functions, defining and implementing new operating models
- Participating in or managing shared service organisations and initiatives to transform services across the back and middle office
- Managing supplier service delivery arrangements or improving supplier and sourcing relationships
- Participating in or managing major sourcing programmes (ITO or BPO) and potentially experience of 2nd and 3rd generation sourcing projects
- Undertaking performance and process benchmarking
Bringing knowledge and practical experience of working in at least one of the following market sectors would be advantageous:
• Health and Life Sciences
• Utilities and Energy
• Financial Services
• Manufacturing and Logistics
Candidates must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be willing to travel on business. In the majority of cases, assignments will be in the UK but opportunities do exist to work on overseas assignments.
You may not have had a traditional consulting role but you should have a consultative approach and understand the lifestyle of consulting to multiple clients.
In addition you should also have:
• A degree level qualification, minimum 2:1 or equivalent
• Significant post graduate practical work experience
• A passion for adding value to clients’ business and embracing change
• A proven ability to think conceptually and to deliver practical results.
