With its unmatched reputation for industry expertise, range of complementary offerings, global reach and delivery excellence, EY is experiencing significant demand in its Financial Services consulting business.  Hence it is currently aggressively expanding the Performance Improvement practice, and in particular is looking to recruit individuals with deep knowledge of Wealth Management.

Following the financial crisis and subsequent changes in regulation and client expectations, the Financial Services industry is experiencing an unparalleled degree of change.  Driven by customers, regulators and shareholders, EY clients are re-evaluating their business models and embarking on major transformation programmes to deliver the operational and technology infrastructure required.  The Wealth Management sector in particular is seeing major change and hence demand for consulting services spanning front office, operations, finance, risk, IT, regulatory, tax and programme management.

EYs Performance Improvement practice is looking to further grow its Wealth Management team.  It has already attracted significant senior talent from both industry and consulting to drive the growth of this business, and is now looking to hire a number of high calibre individuals at Senior Manager, Manager and Executive level.

Competency Specific Experience – Operations

  • Understanding of wealth management functions and processes in Operations and inter-relationships with Front Office, Product Management, Risk and Finance
  • Experience of one or more wealth management applications and understanding of overall product or service development lifecycle would be advantageous
  • Customer and/or Operations change management / transformation experience, spanning some / all of the following areas:
  • Market Propositions - Business Model Optimisation, Growth and Diversification Strategies, Competitor Positioning, Market Entry and Optimisation, Cross Bordering, Distribution Channels
  • Customer, Product or Service Strategy – Segmentation, Distribution Strategies, Portfolio Management, Relationship Management Models, Product Management, Brand Management, Client Acquisition and On-boarding
  • Operating Model Design - Target Operating Model, Business Operating Model, Organisational Design, Functional Architecture, Locational Model, Application Architecture, Sourcing Models, Onshoring / Offshoring, Insourcing / Outsourcing
  • Process Improvement - Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), Business Process Transformation, Workflow, Exception Processing, Process Control Review and Design, Six Sigma, Lean, Process Modelling, Process Mapping, Process Flow Definition & Design, Business Case Design – Cost / Benefit Analysis, Numeric Analysis, Scenario Analysis, Roadmap Design – Project / Programme Planning, Estimation, Prioritisation

Industry Experience

  • Successful track record in Wealth Management gained through a top tier consultancy (Big 4, IBM, Accenture etc..), a specialist financial services consultancy, a top tier Wealth Manager, and/or a relevant infrastructure firm (e.g. wealth management banking platforms, wrap / trading platforms)
  • Good (in depth at Manager level) understanding of one or more wealth management product or service areas (including customer segments / strategy, advisory capabilities, distribution channels, portfolio management, relationship management, product and service design)
  • Appreciation of major industry issues and current market trends in mass affluent and/or wealth management markets
  • Good understanding of wealth market segmentation, end to end sales, service and/or performance management processes
  • Track record of successful delivery on projects for wealth management clients (for Manager level, in project management or team leadership roles)
  • Whilst a European / global perspective is important, experience of the UK market in particular is also necessary

  • Excellent graduate level education
  • Flexibility to travel to, and work in, other locations is essential
