Job Description
The Public Sector team within Technology Risk Consulting provides services to a range of UK Public Sector clients including those in Central and Local Government, Health, Housing and Education. 

We are often required to provide specialist IT assurance support to other teams within KPMG.

Technology Risk Consulting Sectors is a fast growing department that currently consists of about 150 professionals of which roughly half are based in our Canary Wharf office on Canada Square in London. Our services are of both an assurance and advisory nature and include:

IT Security and Risk Management,
IT in the External Audit,
Service Organisation Assurance Reporting,
IT Internal Audit,
Independent Project Assurance,
ERP controls (called Business System and Controls),
Revenue assurance

The Role
A Senior Manager within the team would typically be responsible for driving growth in one or more specific areas of our business as part of a team, developing new business from existing clients and new prospects, building deep and enduring relationships with blue chip organisations and establishing themselves as a subject matter expert in their chosen field. In this case the specialist area sought is IT internal and external audit.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities attributable to this role will include some or all of the following:

Be responsible for developing our Technology services in a specific sector, eg UK Central Government or Higher Education.
Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, in particular with colleagues working within the Public Sector clients.
Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CFO or Head of Internal Audit level) across a range of organisations.
Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as responding to ITTs, bid management, proposal writing and client presentations.
Responsibility for the overall output from client engagements.
Overseeing the scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production and review of deliverables.
Coaching and developing team members both as part of our overall Performance Management process or on specific engagements.
Contributing to practice management, eg training, knowledge management in your area of expertise. Management of specific value added assurance services.

The Individual|
Successful candidates will display a combination of the following:

Experience in business analysis and understanding of core business processes within the UK public sector.

Proven experience in identifying and converting sales opportunities.
Strong people management skills.
Recognised accounting / auditing (eg CISA) qualification or Degree/masters qualification in IT/business.
Experience in an IT risk and control / audit environment.
A good understanding of IT data centre operations and a variety of technology platforms.
A good understanding of risk and issues that would be encountered by our clients during major IT programmes and projects.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and first rate interpersonal skills at all levels.
Ability to present on specific subjects to a group of people (internal staff or clients/potential clients).
Ability to identify and assess complex IT risks and controls, to relate them to the wider business environment and to express opinions clearly to all levels.
Ability to develop excellent client and internal relationships.
Ability to deliver work within tight timescales, to budget and to a high quality.
Excellent team player but also excelling in working on own initiative.
Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering IT assurance services (including external/internal audit) to large, complex UK public sector clients. Including for example experience in; Delivering IT internal audit services; Providing IT support to external audit; Other IT assurance and advisory experience for example project assurance, third party assurance, application controls advisory or assurance, IT risk management etc.
